I saw the Hunger Games. (SPOILER ALERT!)

Do not read this post if you have not read the book or seen the movie.

So I saw the movie trailer for the Hunger Games and I say to myself "I need to read that book!" because I wanted to see the movie and I won't let myself see a good movie that is based off of a good book with out reading the book first. So I started the first book on a Saturday night and finished it on the Monday after. Then I started the second book that night and finished it on Wednesday. Then I started the third book on that Wednesday, but I didn't finish that one until Monday. They were great. I saw the movie last night and it was great, too. It followed the plot and was pretty much the same. Only a few things were changed and I'm OK with most of them.
I think adding in bits from the capitol were they control the games was a good idea. I had only small issues with Katniss not having a sleeping bag. I was kind of OK with the dogs at the end of the games. They were so different from the wolves in the book, I'm surprised they did that. Also, the Cornucopia wasn't gold, but I was fine with it otherwise. I think mu biggest issues were with the characters.
They really did do an outstanding job acting, but they just didn't look the part to me. For Haymitch I imagined a pot-bellied old man with almost no hair. He didn't fall off the stage either. I also imagined Snow as a tall, thin, bald, old man with pale skin and age spots all over his head. I still can't imagine Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss. She is too plump, for starters. She has blue eyes, instead of grey ones (which could have been easily fixed), too. Mostly, she is too fragile. I can't imagine her in hostile silence in the third book. Or yelling for Peeta ready to kill him and put him out of his misery and then do the same for herself. I can't imagine her figuring out Wiress' "Tick tock, Tick tock". She doesn't look lethal, hostile, or clever which is how I imagined Katniss. Another thing that bugged me is that they left out the mayor's daughter and had Katniss buy the pin, give it to Prim and then have Prim give it back to her.
But my biggest issue of them all has to do with detail. Its actually a pretty big detail, too. No one, except Effie spoke in a Capitol accent. No one. Not snow, the Gamemakers, Ceaser, no one. It really bugged me because whenever Katniss spoke to someone from the Capitol in the book, she noticed the accent. It doesn't make sense either to have Effie with a Capitol accent from a place where no one has accents.
The movie was very good other than that. They pulled off the flaming on the chariot ride very well. They did a good job with the Tracker Jackers. They did a good job with Rue. They got an excellent knife thrower. They  did a good job with the Cornucopia (they way I imagined it, they never would have been able to climb to the top of it), they did a good job with all of it. But I won't give you too many spoilers. (maybe its a bit too late ^^)

<Prettyotter1023> g2g, bye.
